How Our Wheels Are Made
Forged From a Single Block.
In the 1960s, a wheel left the factory as stamped steel — pressed in pieces, welded together, dressed up with a hubcap. It was the best the era could build. Every VFW wheel starts differently: one solid block of forged aluminum, shaped under pressure and machined to tolerances that didn't exist back then. Same soul. Stronger metal.
-
One Solid Block
Every wheel begins as a single solid billet of 6061-T6 aluminum. No welds, no seams, no separate pieces — the entire wheel is in that block.
-
Forged Under Pressure
A forging press works the billet under thousands of tons of pressure — aligning the metal's grain and closing the voids a casting leaves behind. Heat treatment locks in that strength.
-
Machined to Fit Your Car
CNC machines cut the final form — bolt pattern, backspacing, and profile matched to the fitment we confirm with you first.
-
Finished and Inspected
Balanced, inspected, and finished to order. Then it's crated, insured, and on its way to your garage.

Why We Exist
He Couldn't Buy the Right Wheel. So He Built It.
Vintage Forged Wheels didn't start as a company. It started as one owner's problem — a vintage Corvette he actually wanted to drive, and a wheel that didn't exist.
-
He wanted to drive it.
A vintage Corvette driven often — not garaged. That meant better tires, easier miles, less weight, and no twenty-thousand-dollar one-off custom program to get there.
-
Nothing existed.
Forums. Facebook. YouTube. Every search ended the same way — nothing that fit right, drove right, and still looked like it belonged on the car.
-
So he designed his own.
He drew the wheel he couldn't buy and sent the design to a forging manufacturer. The first set came back machined from solid forged aluminum.
-
They bolted on. That's the history.
Shipped to his house. Installed in his garage. Driven ever since — and now built for every owner with the same problem.
